Alaska Chapter History
According to a telegram received by NSDAR in Washington, DC: "Alaska Chapter, DAR was organized at Fairbanks, Alaska, November 21, 1925." Seven members were present according to the telegram sent by Ruth Kathryn Trail McClellan to the Organizing Secretary General. Thirteen members made up the chapter and officers were: Mrs.Lola May Boyd Morgan, Regent; Mrs.Jeanette Drury Clark, Vice Regent; Miss Ada Charis Chapman, Treasurer; and Mrs. Lillian Faloon Haskei Dillon, Registrar.

What is DAR?
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America's future through better education. Founded October 11, 1890; and incorporated in 1896 by an act of Congress. There are 168,000 members in 3,000 chapters in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. International Chapters exist in Australia, The Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Eligibility for Membership
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible. NSDAR members offer assistance in completing the application and in genealogical research. For more information contact Linda Patton at ljpatton@starband.net. Local Volunteer Work
The Alaska Chapter of NSDAR serves in a military community. Fort Wainwright Army Base and Eielson Air Force Base are an integral part of the Fairbanks community. We support our local military troops and their families. Other local events supported by the Alaska Chapter through our membership on 40 national NSDAR committees:
*Stand Down, an event that gathers donations and services for our local veterans,
*Memorial Services,
*Naturalization of local new citizens
*Good Citizens Awards and
*American History Essay Awards to local school aged children
*Constitution Week services and activities in local schools
*Conservation Projects
*AND MANY, MANY MORE!
